Create an agent

The first agent starts from a website URL. We crawl the public pages we can reach, draft an agent (including the widget style from those facts), and keep it off your website until the last onboarding step. Chat-to-build is disabled. There is no generate-a-site or section-builder feature.

Paste a URL#

On the homepage, paste the URL and continue. Signup and login keep next=/onboarding/launch?url=…, so you are not asked to paste it again. /try lets visitors paste a URL and talk to a watermarked draft (text-only, capped) before claiming it at signup.

If you already have sites, a pasted URL still creates a new unpublished draft. The same URL already in progress is resumed instead of duplicated. A finished first-run site is not reused.

Do not paste passwords, private customer data, or connector tokens into the URL field.

Wait on the generating screen#

While the draft is built, the generating screen shows real ingest, compose, and exam progress — not a fake spinner:

Typical wait is a few seconds; a larger site can take up to about a minute. If the crawl is thin, the draft still uses whatever was found. You can add sources after review.

The draft is never auto-published. New agents do not get a hosted marketing page.

Meet the agent and put it live#

After the draft is built, onboarding shows two more screens:

• Meet your agent — the real chat beside three quick checks. Ask, read the answer, and accept or fix it. Text rehearsal uses credits; contact requests and actions are simulated.
• Put it where your customers are — the last step. It switches the website widget on for the website you pasted and turns on the Agent link (one public chat page at your agent's own address) so you can test on your phone under Test on your phone. Add the install code to your site, then press Check my site.

Afterwards the agent opens on its Agent page, the first item in the agent's sidebar: Overview, Display, Voice, and Actions tabs beside a live canvas that shows the real widget in the corner you chose. Ask it what a customer would ask right there. On Overview, Answer check → Run a check grades answers against your knowledge.

Talking to the agent in the dashboard is an owner test. It does not go live and does not count toward activation.

To put the widget on your website later, open Put it live → Website widget on the Agent page. If the widget is not on yet, choose Enable embed. Once it is on, the same sheet shows the install code, the Show it on my website switch, and Allowed website addresses. You can hide the widget anytime with that switch or with the On your website card on the Overview tab.

Activation#

After you are live, add the embed or connect a channel. The site is activated by the first visitor conversation or the first captured lead. Dashboard tester turns never count.

Edit after the first draft#

There is no chat-to-build. After review, update:

• Instructions on the Agent page's Overview tab, and Voice and Display on their tabs beside it.
• Knowledge on its own page in the agent's sidebar.
• Display changes save automatically and update the live embed without a republish.

Start without a website URL#

If you submit the homepage form empty, Try still opens. Anonymous visitors can paste a URL there and talk to a draft; claim it at signup to continue onboarding. A pasted URL always takes the generating-screen path above.
