The first agent starts from a website URL. We crawl the public pages we can reach, draft an agent (widget Look from those facts), and leave the result unpublished until you approve it. Chat-to-build is disabled. There is no generate-a-site or section-builder feature.
Paste a URL#
On the homepage, paste the URL and continue. Signup and login keep next=/onboarding/launch?url=…, so you are not asked to paste it again. /try lets visitors paste a URL and talk to a watermarked draft (text-only, capped) before claiming it at signup.
If you already have sites, a pasted URL still creates a new unpublished draft. The same URL already in progress is resumed instead of duplicated. A finished first-run site is not reused.
Do not paste passwords, private customer data, or connector tokens into the URL field.
Wait on the generating screen#
While the draft is built, the generating screen shows real ingest, compose, and exam progress — not a fake spinner:

Typical wait is a few seconds; a larger site can take up to about a minute. If the crawl is thin, the draft still uses whatever was found. You can add sources after review.
The draft is never auto-published. New agents do not get a hosted marketing page.
Review & publish#
You land on Review & publish (the first item in the site sidebar):
- Preview of the visitor widget
- Talk to your agent — ask what a customer would ask
- Self-test — optional graded questions from your knowledge
- Approve & publish — enables the embed on your existing site
Talking to the agent here is an owner test. It does not go live and does not count toward activation.
When the answers sound like you, choose Approve & publish. That turns on embedding (goLiveEmbedAction). Copy the snippet from Embed and add it to your website. You can unpublish (disable the embed) anytime.
Activation#
After you are live, add the embed or connect a channel. The site is activated by the first visitor conversation or the first captured lead. Dashboard tester turns never count.
Edit after the first draft#
There is no chat-to-build. After review, update:
- Persona, Knowledge, Voice, and Look from their own pages.
- Look save updates the live embed without a republish.
Start without a website URL#
If you submit the homepage form empty, Try still opens. Anonymous visitors can paste a URL there and talk to a draft; claim it at signup to continue on review. A pasted URL always takes the generating-screen path above.
